Retreats – I practice what I preach

August 19, 2021

I recently took “off” about a month. I did have a bit of it where I was officially on that thing called vacation where I was off with my family and wasn’t sleeping at my own house, but I also had a bit of is where I was on my own and just mentally taking space to reset. I had a few weeks where I didn’t teach any yoga classes, and time where I released all the mental load and just WAS. I watched TV. Laid on the couch with a book. Decided hummus was a perfectly reasonable meal. I retreated.

This is a critical kind of time for me, and the type of time I can forget how much I need. It takes a lot of self reminders that I am not a heart surgeon and no one will come to serious harm if I don’t send the newsletter, write a post, or teach a class.

This is the exact kind of time and space I strive to offer and hold in my retreat offerings. The three days and nights are truly designed to be places of rest, of being cared for, of putting down the burdens, of sharing and community. The next one is about leaving things behind – maybe decisions will be made not to pick back up everything we put down. Fall is the beautiful reminder that it’s okay to drop our leaves and make space for the new ones to form. We next gather just a few days after the first day of fall. Seasons change, and so do we.

I invite you to consider joining me this September. As of this moment a few spaces remain. I’ve made this one small, so our community can feel comfortable indoors or out. The amazing Sarah will be back with the best massages (included of course). Paige remains the wonder of all the meals. The yoga practices and thought sessions are designed to meet you where you are, and provide exactly what you need.

If this speaks to you, book it. You won’t regret it.

Update 12/21: 2022 Retreat dates are out! Jan 14-16 at Elohee, March 17-20 for my signature Woman’s retreat.
