This is the magical little surprise I brought to my yin students a few weeks back, and served at a party I had. I love it in small cups with a little coconut whipped cream on top to feel a little fancy. ¾ cup vanilla almond milk ¼ cup chia seeds ½ cup full-fat coconut milk (not coconut cream) 1 teaspoon matcha (green […]
I’ve been talking a lot in my yoga classes about making life just 10% easier, there is plenty that is hard in the world and there is plenty we might be over-efforting on. Sometimes we just need to be a little easy… and this breakfast looks grand but is one of the easiest things to […]

Time is a funny thing. The other day someone was stunned to find out I started yoga well over 30 years ago. Honestly, I started pretty young, but I’m stunned too. And then in talking to someone from my teacher training, we couldn’t remember how many years ago that was… I blame recent events because […]
(Originally written and shared in 2014) It’s been written about, and I was going to skip it, but I can’t. “The north” mocks “the south” every time we freak out in the snow. But there is a major point the news misses: we’re awesome in the snow. I have to break this down. Sure, we […]
I recently took “off” about a month. I did have a bit of it where I was officially on that thing called vacation where I was off with my family and wasn’t sleeping at my own house, but I also had a bit of is where I was on my own and just mentally taking […]
Nothing against the slice and eat method, but I absolutely love watermelon in this chilled soup that hits all the taste buds! This makes a blenders worth, 4 smallish servings, or a generous amount for 2. It’s so quick and easy you can absolutely make more than one batch. 1/4 of a decent sized watermelon […]
I went to a virtual new moon circle tonight. There was nothing really wrong with it, and there was equally nothing really extraordinary about it. The internet was splotchy, it wasn’t really interactive, I didn’t feel like I had everything I needed, and I spilled my tea right as it started. Twice. I quickly decided […]
I have always been fascinated by sparklers. It’s clear at a glance they have explosive energy, bits of light and specks of fie radiating in all directions – not at all the calm steady burn of a candles flame. And yet that display of raw energy poses virtually no threat and I can safely watch it burn, hold it just inches from my body, with no fear. I’m still captivated by the fire you can hold.
The taste of summer is a real thing, and nothing captures if for me more than my fresh raspberry lemonade. I’ve been making it for more years than I can count, the secret to it’s awesomeness is a few limes. 1 cup sugar 6 cups water 6 lemons 2 limes 1 pack of raspberries Heat […]
