About Me
I love yoga and first did yoga at 12 or 13 with my dad, old school style – in the living room, learning from a book. I had some looooong gaps but always came back to yoga, eventually committing to a 5 day a week practice.
A whole bunch of years after those first practices I completed my yoga teacher training and started teaching. I love teaching yoga, and grew to also teaching multi-class series, workshops, retreats, and yoga trainings where I can share even more and dive a little deeper. I love the history, the ideas, the shapes, the breath, and all the things that can blossom when what starts as a mat based yoga practice finds its way out into the world. And it’s not just words when I say I love working with people at all ages and stages of life to explore what and where yoga can bring them.
My passions are all intertwined, my finance background is still there and shows up in the small business work I do and at www.livelearnbudget.com. Yoga (of course) is right here in this site and daily on the mat for me, and my creative endeavors find their home at www.alikatcreations.com, a mother daughter collaboration.
My official bio says big things, like that I’m a E-RYT500, YACEP and it lists tons of hours of continuing education because I absolutely love yoga. I have completed additional specialized trained in yin yoga, yoga nidra, anatomy, teaching meditation, yoga for seniors, chair yoga, aerial yoga, and yoga for osteoporosis (the Fishman sequence). I’m passionate about the balance of a power/vinyasa practice with a yin practice in both teaching and in my personal practice and that I can regularly be found on my mat and at yoga festivals and events, continuing to grow my practice and seek the best to share with others.
Thanks for reading all the way to the bottom, now lets do some yoga!
